DAYTON, Ohio (July 17, 2025) Miguel Bastos-Velez, a Naval Research Enterprise Internship (NREIP) participant at Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) Dayton, sits in a rotating off-vertical axis rotation (OVAR) chair used in studies that investigate motion sickness. Bastos-Velez contributed to multiple research efforts during his summer internship and, along with six fellow interns, presented work to NAMRU Dayton leaders at the conclusion of the program. NAMRU Dayton, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, participates in medical research and development efforts dedicated to advancing warfighter lethality by protecting and enhancing health, readiness and performance through cutting-edge toxicology, environmental health and aerospace medical studies.
