DAYTON, Ohio (June 12, 2025) Darryl McClendon, a biomedical equipment technician at Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) Dayton, uses a Fluke thermometer to ensure a fridge holding specimens for ongoing studies is at the correct temperature at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. McClendon's role as the Command BMET is to ensure equipment is calibrated and properly maintained throughout the year to ensure that accurate results for each study. NAMRU Dayton, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, participates in medical research and development efforts dedicated to advancing warfighter lethality by protecting and enhancing health, readiness and performance through cutting-edge toxicology, environmental health and aerospace medical studies.
