Dr. Stephen Ferrara, acting assistant secretary of defense for health affairs, presents an award for outstanding research accomplishment to Mary Jo Pugh, Ph.D., R.N., professor, Division of Epidemiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, at the 2025 Military Health System Research Symposium in Kissimmee, Florida, on Aug. 4. She was recognized for her work in the category, “Evolving Methods for the Analysis of Large Complex Data Sources to Inform Military Health Policy, Readiness, Performance and Medical Practices.” Pugh made groundbreaking contributions to research on traumatic brain injury on multiple morbidities in veterans.
