Flags burn during a somber ceremony at the Spanish Fork City Fiesta Days flag retirement program on July 14, 2025. When flags are no longer serviceable U.S. Flag Code specifies burning as the preferred method to respectfully retire a flag. The tradition of retiring flags in a dignified and somber ceremony during the Spanish Fork City Fiesta Days celebration began in 1998 and has continued through the years.
