31 Years Strong: U.S. Army celebrates Polish Brigade's milestone

U.S. Army Lt. Col. William Branch (left), NATO Multinational Battle Group Poland commander, assigned to 1st Battalion, 64th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division supporting Task Force Iron, renders a salute during a flag raising ceremony celebrating the Poland Land Forces 15th Mechanized Brigade’s 31st anniversary in Giżycko, Poland, July 11, 2025. Battle group soldiers from the United States, Romania, Croatia, and the United Kingdom joined local residents to commemorate the milestone. The event provided an opportunity for residents to engage directly with soldiers from Battle Group Poland, fostering relationships and enhancing cultural understanding. Task Force Iron’s mission is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent to increase lethality while strengthening partnerships with NATO allies and regional security partners. The task force provides combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s only forward-deployed corps in Europe.
