Beverly Dempsey, right, assistant chief engineer assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106), and orginally from Bethesda, Maryland, teaches Midshipman 3rd Class Ian Mocker, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, how to use a bearing circle during a tour of the ship, currently moored at Naval Base San Diego, June 20, 2025. During the tour, midshipmen had the opportunity to interact with Stockdale's crew, and learn about life aboard a U.S. Navy ship as a part of the Career Orientation and Training for Midshipmen and Professional Training of Midshipmen initiatives.
