Romanian Land Forces Maj. Cosmin Baciu, the commander of the Transylvanian Gepards, instructed U.S. Army soldiers from the 1st Armored Division and the 3rd Infantry Division, in support of Task Force Iron, the functions and features of the Pușcă Automată model 1986 rifle. This instruction took place during a Romanian-led shooting competition in Orysz, Poland, on June 6, 2025. The competition aimed to enhance the soldiers' knowledge of Romanian Land Forces small arms and promote interoperability between the two forces. Task Force Iron’s mission is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent to increase lethality while strengthening partnerships with NATO allies and regional security partners. The task force provides combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s only forward-deployed corps in Europe. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Trevor Wilson)
