Airmen from the 23rd Combat Communications Squadron secure covers on a communications tent to extend Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) services for an Expeditionary Air Base (XAB) during a simulated deployment for Exercise NEXUS RISING 25-01 at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., June 5, 2025. The Airmen, some kneeling to adjust straps, worked to prepare the XAB located in a simulated United States Indo-Pacific Command location. NEXUS RISING 25-01 is a full-scale readiness exercise designed to enhance the ability to generate and sustain combat-ready mobility Airmen and rapidly deploy as an XAB in support of global operations, held June 8-13, 2025.
