STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- Sgt. Maj. Rafael Rodriguez, senior enlisted advisor, U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), interacts with Marines currently observing small craft courses at the Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS).
The SOUTHCOM command team, along with Lt. Gen. Leonard Anderson IV, commander, U.S. Marine Forces South, recently toured NAVSCIATTS facilities located on the Stennis Space Center in South Mississippi. For more than 60 years, NAVSCIATTS has provided vital training to U.S. allies and partners who rely on small vessels to secure their waterways, shorelines, and ports to counter transnational criminal organizations and other malign activities globally.
NAVSCIATTS is a security cooperation schoolhouse operating under U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command in support of foreign security assistance and geographic combatant commanders' theater security cooperation priorities.
