STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- A Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS) instructor briefs Adm. Alvin Holsey, commander, U.S. Southern Command, on the command's International Tactical Communications Course (ITCC) during a tour of facilities located on the Stennis Space Center in South Mississippi, May 14.
ITCC is a five-week course of instruction designed to provide Foreign Security Force personnel with the knowledge and skills to perform as a radio communicator. Students will utilize the Man-Pack (MP) and Handheld (HH) radio platforms to successfully conduct High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), and Ultra High-Frequency (UHF) communications in the field. For more than 60 years, NAVSCIATTS has provided vital training to U.S. allies and partners who rely on small vessels to secure their waterways, shorelines, and ports to counter transnational criminal organizations and other malign activities globally.
NAVSCIATTS is a security cooperation schoolhouse operating under U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command in support of foreign security assistance and geographic combatant commanders' theater security cooperation priorities. To date, this historic command has trained with almost 15,000 international security force professionals from more than 130 partner nations. (U.S. Navy photo by Angela K. Fry)
