STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- A Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS) instructor provides an overview of the Patrol Craft Officer Riverine (PCOR) course to Adm. Alvin Holsey, commander, U.S. Southern Command, during a tour of facilities located on the Stennis Space Center in South Mississippi, May 14.
PCOR is an eight-week course of instruction designed to provide foreign security force personnel with the specialized training necessary to effectively plan and safely execute patrol craft security actions supporting the interdiction of illicit contraband, counter-narcotic/counter-terrorism operations, and waterborne special operations in the riverine environment. For more than 60 years, NAVSCIATTS has provided vital training to U.S. allies and partners who rely on small vessels to secure their waterways, shorelines, and ports to counter transnational criminal organizations and other malign activities globally.
NAVSCIATTS is a security cooperation schoolhouse operating under U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command in support of foreign security assistance and geographic combatant commanders' theater security cooperation priorities.
