The 25-2VN Pre-deployment Site Survey team assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and local Vietnamese officials pose for a photo after closing operations in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, March 15, 2025. Communication and relationships between the Vietnam Office for Missing Personnel officials, DPAA's Vietnam detachment and recovery team leadership, serve to propel progress in achieving the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel during the 24-3VN recovery mission. The partnership and dedication shared between the United States and Vietnam makes these missions possible. There are currently 1,573 personnel who remain unaccounted for from the Vietnam War.
