U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Kevin Christensen, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency life support investigator,
excavates a flagged area during an investigation mission in Vietnam, March 11, 2025. Life support investigators
identify various parts of the aircraft and life support equipment while providing their expertise to the scientific
recovery expert to assist in choosing the best path forward in the search for missing personnel. DPAA operates in 45
countries around the world in search of more than 81,000 missing Americans from past conflicts. DPAA's Vietnam detachment
and recovery team leadership are key in expanding recovery capabilities. There are currently 1,573 personnel who
