U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Kevin Christensen, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency life support investigator,
utilizes a global navigation satellite system mapping tool to survey an area during an investigation mission in
Vietnam, March 11, 2025. Team members recorded the location of terrain features on site to develop a map to aid
current and future investigations. DPAA requires multiple lines of evidence to make an identification including
historical background, material evidence, DNA, archaeological, forensic anthropological, and odonatological
evidence. There are currently 1,573 personnel who remain unaccounted for from the Vietnam War. (U.S. Marine
