Sgt. Benner, a member of the U.S. Army Reserve is assigned to the 780th Quartermaster Detachment, Field Feeding Unit, based in New York, is participating in the 49th annual Joint Culinary Training Exercise (JCTE), which began Feb. 28 at the Fort Gregg-Adams MacLaughlin Fitness Center and continues through March 7. The exercise, administered by the Joint Culinary Center of Excellence, is the largest American Culinary Federation-sanctioned competition in North America. More than 200 military chefs from all U.S. military services, as well as three international teams from France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, are showcasing their talents.
