U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 74th Fighter Squadron prepare an A-10C Thunderbolt II for departure during exercise Ready Tiger 24-1 at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, April 9, 2024. The 74th FS is one of Moody's two combat-ready A-10C Thunderbolt II squadrons. The squadron's 35 pilots are dedicated to carrying out the close-air support mission through the A-10, which is specifically designed for long loiter time, accurate weapons delivery, austere field capability and survivability. Built upon Air Combat Command's directive to assert air power in contested environments, Exercise Ready Tiger 24-1 aims to test and enhance the 23rd Wing’s proficiency in executing Lead Wing and Expeditionary Air Base concepts through Agile Combat Employment and command and control operations.
