231202-N-DY413-1086 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 2, 2023) –Retail Specialist 3rd Class Jerico Santos, from Manila, Philippines, shoots a .50-caliber machine gun during general quarters (GQ) drill aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58) in the Atlantic Ocean, Dec. 2, 2023. GQ drills prepare Sailors to be at the highest state of readiness in the event of an emergency. Laboon is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by the U.S. 6th Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and partner interests.
