    231202-N-DY413-1209 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 2, 2023) – Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58) clean the ship’s close-in weapons system (CIWS) during a fresh water wash down in the Atlantic Ocean, Dec. 2, 2023. Fresh water wash downs are conducted as ship preservation by removing salt built up. Laboon is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by the U.S. 6th Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and partner interests.
