231202-N-DY413-1209 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 2, 2023) – Command Master Chief Edlyne Diaz, senior enlisted leader of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58), from Pompano Beach, Florida, carries a fire hose during fresh water wash down in the Atlantic Ocean, Dec. 2, 2023. Fresh water wash downs are conducted as a corrosion control method by removing salt built up. Laboon is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by the U.S. 6th Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and partner interests.
