Patriots Hockey is a Southern California team comprised of active and former service members, most of which who are based in Camp Pendleton, Calif. The team is dedicated to serving the military community and wounded warriors by raising funds and awareness for different nonprofit organizations. On Jan. 13, 2013, the team presented a check for $1,400 to Semper Fi Fund’s Laura Castellvi, senior manager of community outreach and events, during a team lunch at Players Sports Bar in San Marcos, Calif. The team raised the money by selling Patriots Hockey t-shirts and accepting donations during an Ontario Reign game Dec. 1, 2012, at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. Floer is an active duty Navy corpsman from Detroit and Pilachowski is an active duty Marine infantry officer from Chicago. Both serve with 1st Marine Division.
