Patriots Hockey captain Marvin Floer and assistant captain Jeremy Pilachowski put together a drill during team practice Jan. 13, 2013, at Iceoplex in Escondido, Calif. After practice, the team gathered at Players Sports Bar and presented a check of $1,400 to Semper Fi Fund’s Laura Castellvi, senior manager of community outreach and events. The team raised the money by selling Patriots Hockey t-shirts and accepting donations during an Ontario Reign game Dec. 1, 2012, at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. Floer is an active duty Navy corpsman from Detroit and Pilachowski is an active duty Marine infantry officer from Chicago. Both serve with 1st Marine Division.
