U.S. Army Pfc. Lowell Perkins, 1171st Medical Company (Area Support), 146th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, Michigan National Guard, learns how to connect a water line to an advanced patient simulator during Northern Strike 23 on Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 8, 2023. The advanced patient simulator can be used to train on many different emergency care procedures and can replicate many bodily functions such as the secretion of blood, sweat and tears. Exercise NS 23 is a premier reserve component training event that integrates both U.S. and partner nation readiness training to build interoperability and strengthen partnerships in an all-domain environment.
