Cpl. Josh Hood, a vehicle commander with Personnel Security Detachment, Regimental Combat Team 1, from Wakefield, Kan., stands in formation with his fellow PSD Marines during a mission brief given by Gunnery Sgt. Ronnie Smith, platoon commander, Personnel Security Detachment, RCT-1. Hood is an infantryman by trade and has been in the Marine Corps for five years. He is on his third deployment to Iraq. His first deployment was during Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 where he participated in the initial push into the city of Fallujah. His second deployment was to Haditha for OIF 3 where he was wounded in action suffering three gunshots.
