Williams is on his second deployment to Iraq. Navy corpsmen, also known as 'docs' among Marines, are the combat medics for the Marine Corps. They have the skills and medical provisions to stabilize Marines wounded in combat right on the spot, giving them a fighting chance to live before being medically evacuated.
