Lance Cpl. Zachary Clark, a machine gunner with Personnel Security Detachment, Regimental Combat Team 1, and a native to Kansas City, Mo., mans an M-240G medium machine gun turret atop of a Humvee, guarding the surrounding area of the convoy as the commanding officer tours the battlespace and meets with Marines of 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment in Saqulawiyah, Iraq. His mission is to provide a field of fire along with the other machine gunners to give the convoy 360 degrees of security while on the move or in a static position.
