221017-N-VC236-1042 QUEZON PROVINCE, Philippines (Oct. 17, 2022) Sailors assigned to the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), paddle on a sugar cane raft during a Villa Escudero plantation tour in Quezon Province, Philippines, Oct. 17. During the tour, Sailors had the opportunity to experience Filipino country life by sampling traditional food and learning about the history of the former sugar cane and coconut plantation that was founded in 1872. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
