Contra-Almirante Marcelo Guimarães Dias (Rear Admiral Brazilian Marine Corps), center, commander of Brazil’s Amphibious Division, awards Sgt. Samuel Robar, Sgt. Dylan Rodgers, Staff Sgt. Nicholas Bucy, Staff Sgt. Andrew Rodriguez, and Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Anthony Brewton, from 3rd Force Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, the second-place overall trophy following a ‘Marine of Steel’ event, during a sports day at Ilha do Governador, Rio de Janeiro, Sept. 4, 2022. Five-man teams from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Jamaica, Paraguay, the United States of America, and Uruguay participated in the competition across a one-kilometer course, and eight exercise stations, including sprints, fireman carries, tire flips, swimming, box jumps, and weight lifting to test their strength while building international comradery. UNITAS develops and sustains relationships that improve the capacity of our reemerging and enduring maritime partners to achieve common objectives. Additionally, the military-to-military exchanges foster friendly mutual cooperation and understanding among participating navies and marine corps. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Maj. Jeremy Wheeler)
