Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG) Soldiers with Alpha Company, 227th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) confirm calculations for composition C-4 explosives during demolition missions, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, July 17, 2021. These explosives are prepared by cutting a pre-established space into the explosives plastic binding, inserting the detonation cord, and wrapping with military grade tape ensuring a tight seal. As part of training, Soldiers conducted squad level battle drills, pre-requisite Soldier and leader tasks, prepared and emplaced shaping and cratering charges, C4 explosives and 40-pound shaping charges all keyed to improve Soldiers accuracy and proficiency.
