U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Justin Morris, a Philadelphia native and dental technician with the 88th Dental Squadron, 88th Air Base Wing stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, ensures the correct dosage of a COVID-19 vaccine by flicking out bubbles from the syringe at the state-led, federally-supported Community Vaccination Center at Ford Field in Detroit, April 28, 2021. Morris is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. His main responsibility is supporting the local community members by ensuring vaccines are prepared according to CDC and medical guidelines and standards. Morris said, “Helping here is a good opportunity to give back to the people and support the area and get out of this pandemic. Eventually we’ll hopefully get back to normal, one vaccine at a time.” Morris is ready to provide a helping hand to the community of Detroit. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
