JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 7, 2020) – Lt. Deborah Steele, a trauma nurse and Tactical Combat Casualty Care instructor at Naval Hospital Jacksonville and Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Jacksonville, educates a sailor during a simulated patient assessment. Steele, a native of Sierra Vista, Arizona, holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona College of Nursing. “I became a TCCC instructor to support the advancement of trauma care. The course prepares students to handle overwhelming injuries in a systematic manner, and decreases preventable deaths. The vast experience and real-world examples provided by our hospital corpsmen ensure the students understand how important these skills are to saving lives.”
