JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 5, 2020) – Aimee Simonelli, a civilian registered nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, discusses obstetric care with family medicine resident physician Lt. Eileen Tatum. Simonelli, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain School of Nursing. She was recently awarded NH Jacksonville’s Culture of Patient Safety Award for fostering a culture of safety and high reliability. “I work as the obstetrics nurse for the Family Medicine Clinic. I do it because my Navy family is something I wish to protect and provide the best care for. I want our patients to feel like they’re getting the best care for their pregnancy, and for deployed loved ones to feel their families are being looked after.
