U.S. Marine Sgt. Cedrick Charite with Air Combat Element, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, takes part in training at Nackeroo Airfield, Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia, Aug. 10, 2020. Charite is a native of Newport News, Va.
“I’m an imagery analyst, 0241. I interpret the video feed from the RQ-21, and other drones, and convert that raw data into intelligence for the commander. As intel, I think that our mission is one of the most important. The pilot is flying the aircraft that carries the payload, but we’re communicating with the troops on the ground and give them the overwatch and the guidance that they need to navigate the battlefield in real-time.”
During the extended training, MRF-D’s ACE made history by launching an RQ-21A Blackjack into flight, from Australian soil, for the first time ever. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Harrison Rakhshani)
