A recently excavated or dredged waterway channel winds through a wetland or marsh area during late autumn or early winter. The channel shows fresh earthwork with visible machinery track marks on the exposed muddy banks, surrounded by dormant golden reed grass (likely Phragmites). Power lines are faintly visible in the background above a treeline of bare deciduous trees.

Water flowing through the restored Stanford Run stream channel at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District's Stanford Run ecosystem restoration project at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Summit County, Ohio, Jan. 6, 2020.

Funding for this restoration work was provided over two years through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
