Staff Sgt. Kristopher J. Battles, combat artist with Headquarters and Service Battalion at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., and native of Hermann, Mo., and Sgt. Jeffrey Caraway, combat cameraman from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., and native of Adrian, Mo., work on the final aspects of the Marine Week Cleveland mural on the corner of East 55th Street and Carnegie Road in Cleveland June 13, 2012. For the past week, six Marines have worked roughly 12 hours a day completing the mural. The official unveiling of the mural will occur June 15. The mural, which was designed by Staff Sgt. Randy L. Kirby, art director, Marine Corps Recruiting Command at MCB Quantico, Va., and Hanover, Va., native, focuses on community, country and Corps with iconic Cleveland, patriotic and Marine Corps images. More than 750 Marines will be in Cleveland all week displaying Marine aircraft, vehicles and equipment, as well as interacting and sharing with the public the values and character of the Marine Corps.
