The completed Marine Week Cleveland mural is unveiled at the unveiling ceremony at the corner of East 55th Street and Carnegie Road in Cleveland, June 15, 2012. The mural which measures 8 feet by 48 feet was designed by Staff Sgt. Randy L. Kirby, a production specialist with Headquarters and Service Battalion at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., and Hanover, Va., native, and completed by Kirby and a five-Marine team during Marine Week Cleveland. The Marines worked roughly 12 hours a day to complete the mural on time. The mural was unveiled in a ceremony attended by Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Micheal P. Barrett, Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Brig. Gen. Joseph L. Osterman, regional general of Marine Corps Recruiting Command. More than 750 Marines will be in Cleveland until June 17 displaying Marine aircraft, vehicles and equipment, as well as interacting and sharing with the public the values and character of the Marine Corps. One of the culminating events will be a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration, which showcases Marines' ability to assault from ship-to-shore via ground and air, June 16-17, at Burke Lakefront Airport.
