FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (Jan. 21, 2020) Pacific Ocean Division (POD) Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Thomas Tickner (far left), stands alongside Director General for Facilities and Installations, Minister’s Secretariat, Kenji Takagi (third from left), Japan Ministry of Defense (MOD), as well as other delegation, Japan Engineer District and POD members. The group participated in a construction site tour as part of the visit. POD, along with Japan Engineer District, conducts technical exchanges with the Japan MOD to enhance existing bilateral relationships and to improve engineering support to U.S. and Japanese governments in execution of respective missions. This collaboration is part of a longstanding agreement between the two countries and enhances peace and security in the region.
