FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (Jan. 21, 2020) Pacific Ocean Division (POD) Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Thomas Tickner (second to left), hosts a roundtable discussion with Director General for Facilities and Installations, Minister’s Secretariat, Kenji Takagi (second to right), Japan Ministry of Defense (MOD), and other delegation members, regarding continued engineering partnership opportunities, proposed program improvements and solutions to shared challenges. Leaders from Japan Engineer District (JED) also attended. JED conducts technical exchanges with the Japan MOD to enhance existing bilateral relationships and to improve engineering support to U.S. and Japanese governments in execution of respective missions. This collaboration is part of a longstanding agreement between the two countries and enhances peace and security in the region.
