Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve   

U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Tim Forsyth, 557th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron, enters information from the pavement condition index (PCI) onto the computer for later reference at Q – West airfield, Iraq, Nov. 28, 2019. The airfield pavement evaluation team from Air Force Central Command travels across theater to evaluate airfields utilized by U.S. forces using a PCI evaluation and a dynamic cone penetrometer to determine the strength of the pavement and soil underneath the runway. The results from their evaluation gives mission planners insight on the runway’s condition, what type of aircraft it can support and the longevity of the pavement. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Sgt.
