NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Oct. 25, 2019) Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Alexa Macri, from Huntington, West Virginia, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) deck department, looks outs a hatch as the ship pulls away from the pier. Ford departed Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding and returned to sea for the first time since beginning their post-shakedown availability in July 2018 to conduct sea trials.
