Legacy's Shadow: Rising Hearts from a Sunken Ship, is a story of a Purple Heart Medal being posthumously award to a Coast Guardsman killed in action on Sept. 26, 1918 during World War I aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Tampa that was torpedoed while conducting a convoy escort in Bristol Channel. More than 100 years later members of the Coast Guard still remember and hold a ceremony in honor of their fallen shipmates who made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation during World War I.
