Brakke (left), commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, shakes hands with Construction Electrician 1st Class Jennifer Mosby, from Fontana, California, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5, during a tour of an expeditionary quay wall patch (Curley patch) build proof of concept test on Naval Base Ventura County in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The Curley patch technique provides expedient repair to piers and wharfs enabling military forces to continue to utilize the port to provide logistical support to the operating forces. PacBlitz19 provides realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response and provides reassurance to U.S. regional partners and allies of enduring commitment to regional stability.
