HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Pacific Ocean Division (POD) Liaison to the U.S. Army Pacific, Jim Thompson (center), was presented the Superior Civilian Service Award for his service as the plans officer, Transatlantic Division, from September 2016 through May 2018. He received the recognition on March 6, 2019, for his in-depth knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and close familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) capabilities, which ensured the Combined Joint Task Force, Operation Inherent Resolve, U.S. Forces Afghanistan and U.S. Army Central Command, had key planning assistance in support of the Global War on Terror. USACE Deputy Chief of Engineers and Deputy Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Michael Wehr (left), along with POD Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Thomas Tickner (right) presented the award.
