Salisbury, North Carolina, native, Pfc. Courtney Roseborough, assigned to 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment, is one out of 13 members of the Fort Bliss’ culinary arts team scheduled to participate in the Joint Culinary Training Exercises in early March. He joined the military because he wanted to travel, and he is really “humbled by the amount of people you meet from all walks of life.” He was deployed to Kuwait in 2017 and had the chance to travel to Iraq and Syria, where he “tried their food and really got to know the people and their culture.” After two years of being an Iron Soldier, he believes “the military is great.” When he first got the news that he would be apart of the team, he was ecstatic. When he first joined, he didn’t know how to cook; but, now, he is on “an elite team that will represent Fort Bliss and 1st Armored Division across the department of defense and throughout many countries.” He “didn’t really know how many opportunities the Army had, but he doesn’t “regret one moment besides having to make up really early in the morning.”
