Spc. Young Lee, a La Crescenta, California, native assigned to 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, joined the military to receive the multiple education benefits the Army provides. He hopes to one day become a special education teacher for high school students in his hometown. After joining the military, he saw that “it was more than just receiving benefits, but it became about meeting the people, taking advantage of opportunities, and learning that everyone needs to work together for the bigger picture.” Being Korean-born, he wants to showcase the Korean-American alliance and bring a bit of his heritage into the food he cooks. He is confident that the “Fort Bliss team will bring home many medals and trophies because of everyone’s hard work efforts.”
