Coast Guard Cutter Munro returns home to Alameda on Christmas Eve [Image 13 of 14]
Friends and family members of Coast Guard Cutter Munro await the cutter’s return home to Coast Guard Island in Alameda, Calif., following the cutter’s 105-day, 17,000-nautical mile, multi-mission deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean. Dec. 24, 2018. As Department of Homeland Security’s sole armed service, the Coast Guard’s unique authorities, capabilities, missions, and partnerships enable us to operate in the Indo-Pacific and conduct critical missions such as Munro’s deployment to the region thwarting illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing practices in the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission area.
