    U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. John Grucella, a joint terminal attack controller, is currently deployed to Forward Operating Base Spin Boldak, Afghanistan. Gruclla, who calls Lake Elsinore, Calif., home, is on his fifth deployment since Joining the Air Force 14 years ago as an enlisted JTAC. State side, Grucella is assigned to the 7th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Bliss, Texas. "The thing I love most about this deployment the relationships we're getting to build with the Army here. It's been a great experience." Tactical Air Control Party members provide assistance and expertise in planning and controlling combat air resources. They also operate and supervise communication nets to support Army ground maneuvers.
