Water gushes from a pipe during a demonstration of the Zir Water Pumping Station to Coalition advisors, near Busayrah, Syria, April 21, 2018. The pumping station was inoperable the last time Coalition advisors visited on April 4 However, due to the work of Dawr Az Zawr Civil Council contractors, this station now provides clean drinking water to nearly 20,000 Syrians, a positive step forward in the DCC’s mission to restore normalcy to the people of the Dawr Az Zawr region.
