RENO, NV - Kara Sandifur, a former pilot in the United States Air Force Reserve and a safety investigator with United Airlines from Chicago, Illinois, speaks with Col. Karen Brannen about recruiting at the Women in Aviation, International’s (WAI) 29th Annual Symposium in Reno, Nevada, March 23. Marines attended WAI to generate awareness for career opportunities in the Marine Corps while engaging with highly-qualified individuals and key influencers. The WAI’s 29th symposium falls on the 100 year anniversary of female service in the United States Marine Corps, a milestone celebrated by female aviators and Marines alike. Brannen is the first female to ever earn “wings of gold” and become a fighter pilot in the Marine Corps. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Naomi Marcom)
