ODESSA, Ukraine (Jan. 8, 2018) Personnel Specialist 2nd Class Charleston Tyler writes in the ship's deck log on the bridge of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), as the ship pulls in to Odessa, Ukraine for a scheduled port visit. Carney, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its fourth patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners, and U.S. national security interests in Europe.
