Garrett Koch, from the Memphis District and working in logistics for temporary emergency power in Puerto Rico, tracks generators from collection at ports to installation at critical facilities throughout the island. On the morning of Christmas Eve, Koch oversaw dozens of flatbed trucks load generators and move out as more than 20 generators were scheduled for install. The operation is ongoing, every day, to manage more than 1,000 installations and de-installations for when the critical facilities generators are connected to receive grid power. After de-installation, generators are reallocated to complete existing work orders for temporary power.
